Application Procedure for First-Year Applicants
To apply to any of NYU’s three degree-granting campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi, or Shanghai, students must complete the Common Application online and the NYU supplement within it.
Step 1: Start and Complete the Common Application Online
📌Use a personal email address you check regularly
📌Share contact details for the counselor or school representative who will submit your School Report + high school transcript.
📌Submit contact information for at least one recommender and up to three. NYU requires a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach, supervisor, or authority figure.
📌If a recommender cannot submit through the Common Application, they may email documents directly to admissions.docs@nyu.edu.

Step 2 Application Fee:
Applicants must pay a non-refundable fee of $85 online through the Common Application website.NYU does not accept payments.
Step 3: Who Should Apply?
If you meet any of these conditions, apply as a first-year student:
❕Currently in high school, including those taking college courses.
❕In a dual-enrollment program, even pursue an associate’s degree.
❕Graduated with a GED or high school diploma are not enrolled in another degree-seeking college program

Depending on your educational background and the program you’re applying to, you’ll need to furnish the following:
Standardized test scores (optional for the upcoming term).

✅ For artistic programs, submit an audition or portfolio instead of standardized test scores if required.
✅ English language test scores, if applicable.
✅ College coursework records are not listed on your high school transcript.

NYU reviews both official and unofficial transcripts. Applicants may submit unofficial documents through the applicant portal or by email.
