Short Story
Anish, a young innovator, has got the opportunity to exhibit “Automatic Watering System”, his creation, to a live audience of 1500, including world-class entrepreneurs, leaders, and investors at the upcoming MoonBattle Conference 2024 in Milpitas. He will showcase “Automatic Watering System” in the Show and Tell Competition.
Story
Congratulations to Anish for designing “Automatic Watering System”
& being part of the upcoming
MoonBattle Conference 2024 in Milpitas, Silicon Valley
I have a backyard and love gardening. So I was always curious to find out new and innovative ways of gardening. And form here I came up with this idea.
If you like Anish’s project, support Automatic Watering System by sharing and liking it.
Tools used
Soil moisture sensor, arduino, a 4 wheeled car like chassis and few other sensors for maneuver.
Working principal
To do this, the program will send a high signal to a solenoid valve which will open it and allow water from a water source to flow through and irrigate the plants. Then, using the sensor, the program will check the moisture of the water and once it reaches a certain level, a low signal will be sent to solenoid valve, closing it and turning off the water supply.
Working demonstration
The program will have a loop with a delay and will exit the loop after a certain amount of time. This will serve as a timer. When the loop is completed, the soil moisture sensor will check how dry the dirt is. If it is more moist than the set amount, the loop will restart and count down once again. If it’s lower than the set amount then the plant will be watered.
If scaled up, this project could be used for any sized plant area like small gardens or even whole fields, while still being very efficient in water usage. Not only that but it could help someone care for plants while not consuming too much of their time.
Story
- To help automate the irrigation system.
- To help take care of the garden even in the owner’s absence.
- To come up with smart solutions for gardening
