Rational Number

Rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, where the denominator is not zero. They are a subset of real numbers, which means they can be positive, negative, or zero.

This quiz will test your knowledge of rational numbers, including:

1. Identifying rational numbers

2. Simplifying rational fractions

3. Adding and subtracting rational numbers

4. Multiplying and dividing rational numbers

5. Finding the greatest common factor and least common multiple of rational numbers

6. Comparing rational numbers

7. Ordering rational numbers on a number line

Ready to get started? But before that let’s read a fun story

Once upon a time, there was a young seventh-grader named Emily who was learning about rational numbers in math class. Emily was a bright student, but she was struggling to understand the concept.

One day, after school, Emily was sitting in her room trying to do her math homework when she fell asleep. When she woke up, she found herself in a strange land.

Emily was surrounded by numbers and fractions of all sizes and colors. The numbers and fractions were talking and laughing, and they seemed to be very happy.

“Hello,” said Emily. “Where am I?”

“You are in the Rational Numbers Kingdom,” said a large fraction with a friendly smile. “I am King Rational. What brings you to my kingdom?”

“I’m here to learn about rational numbers,” said Emily. “But I’m having a hard time understanding it.”

“Don’t worry,” said King Rational. “I can help you. Just follow me.”

LEARN MORE ABOUT Rational Number

King Rational led Emily on a tour of the Rational Numbers Kingdom. He showed Emily the Fraction Palace, the Integer Castle, and the Simplification Forest.

As they toured the kingdom, King Rational explained to Emily how rational numbers work. He explained that rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, where the denominator is not zero.

King Rational also taught Emily how to simplify rational fractions, add and subtract rational numbers, multiply and divide rational numbers, find the greatest common factor and least common multiple of rational numbers, compare rational numbers, and order rational numbers on a number line.

Emily listened carefully to King Rational’s explanations. She began to understand the concept of rational numbers much better.

“Thank you for helping me, King Rational,” said Emily. “I now understand rational numbers much better.”

“You’re welcome,” said King Rational. “Now go forth and share your knowledge with the world!”

Emily woke up from her dream and rushed to her homework. She was now able to complete her math homework with ease. She also helped her classmates to understand rational numbers.

Emily was grateful to King Rational for teaching her about rational numbers. She knew that this important math concept would help her to succeed in math class and in life.

Moral of the story: Learning about math concepts can be fun and rewarding. By taking the time to understand rational numbers, Emily was able to improve her math skills and become a more confident learner.
