In <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">math<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, this <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">might<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mean<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">changing<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> one operation into another\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">like<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">changing<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> subtraction into addition in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">some<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">equations<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">concept<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">behind <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the paravartya yojayet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">strategy<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">makes <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">good<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">technique<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to use <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">confronted with division and other operations.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subtraction,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">instance<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can be transposed into addition in specific <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/moonpreneur.com\/math-corner\/area-of-a-shape\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">formulas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transpose and Apply are often<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utilized<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when dividing numbers <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">whose<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> divisor is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">little<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more than any power of 10 and begins<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with 1.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suppose<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">need<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to divide a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">big number (dividend) by a small<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> number (divisor).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Determine the complement of the divisor, which is subtracting each digit of the divisor from 9.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if the divisor is 24, its complement would be 75 (9 \u2013 2 = 7 and 9 \u2013 4 = 5).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Divide the dividend by the divisor<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">without<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">taking into consideration <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">any remainders and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">note<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> down the quotient.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the quotient <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">found<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in step 3 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">multiply it with the complement of the divisor and note<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> down the result.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">away <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the result <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">found in step 4 from the dividend<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">note down the remainder.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there are additional digits in the dividend, bring down the next digit and iterate steps 3 to 5 until all the numbers have been worked through.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final result will be the concatenation of the quotients worked<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">out in Step 3, and the remainder worked<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">out in Step 5 will be the remainder of the division.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Let us demonstrate this method through an example<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Divide 785 by 24.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complement of 24: 9 \u2013 2 = 7, and 9 \u2013 4 = 5.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therefore the complement is 75.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Divide 785 by 24: Quotient = 32 (ignore the remainder).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Multiply the quotient by the complement: 32 x 75 = 2400.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subtract 2400 from 785: 785 \u2013 2400 = -1615 (negative value indicates remainder).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since we have no more digits in the dividend, the final result is the quotient obtained: 32, and the remainder is -1615.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therefore, the division of 785 by 24 using the Paravartya Yojayet method gives a quotient of 32 and a remainder of -1615.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>Why Use This Vedic Maths Sutra?<\/b><\/h3><p><span
